Frequently Asked Questions
-
1. Oxygen Supply:
We will make arrangements for your oxygen traveling supplies guided by
the medical information provided by you and your physician. The additional cost is for your supplies only,
we do not charge a fee for making your oxygen travel arrangements. Costs will be determined on an individual basis.
-
2. Pre-Cruise Overnights:
We urge all of our travelers to take the extra night package before your cruise
so that we may all get to know each other and be sure everything is ready for the big day.
-
3. Insurance:
Our carrier, Access America, provides coverage for 'pre-existing conditions' if coverage
is purchased at the time of deposit and you have been in stable condition for the 120 days prior to your deposit.
-
4. Respiratory Therapists:
Our RTs will be along on each cruise to provide support and encouragement.
We will meet every day while on cruise as a group to check vital signs, learn new developments and share
ideas. The RT's will be present in a supportive sense but by law cannot perform treatments. If you need
assistance in your daily living, we highly recommend that you bring along a support person. Emergency medical treatment
is available by the cruise line medical staff.
-
5. Air Travel:
As you may know, it is sometimes difficult and sometimes impossible to travel with extra
oxygen needs. We will check with your airline about their requirements and schedule you accordingly. In general,
you will not be allowed to travel on commuter planes with oxygen. So, if possible, you will need to get to a
fairly large city for your jet flights with oxygen. Again, we will arrange for your oxygen travel needs on the aircraft and at any
connection you may have to make. Although the air travel arranged through the cruise line may be more expensive,
we highly recommend using it because they will provide transportation between airport and ship or hotel arranged
through the cruise line.
-
6. Scooters:
Because of new regulations, only scooters rented through our oxygen travel supplier will
be allowed. Now, all scooters must fit into the cabin. None can be stored in hallways.

7. I Want To Go, But How Will My Health Be Then?
This is a commonly asked question. First, if you have a
specific cabin preference, it is wise to book as soon as possible and purchase cancellation insurance. If
you then cancel, you lose the cost of the insurance only if your cancellation is due to a covered reason. If
your health is very unstable you may choose to 'wait and see'. This is fine. We can book up to two weeks in
advance of the cruise date IF space is available. So if you're feeling great and want to go, give us a call and
maybe there will still be space!
- 8. Can People Without Pulmonary Problems Go?
Absolutely, friends and family are more than welcome.
